Effects of cardiac anisotropy on three-dimensional ECG localization inverse solutions: a model study
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of cardiac anisotropy on the ECG inverse localization solutions using a heart-model-based approach. The anisotropic heart model was used in forward pacing simulation while anisotropic and isotropic heart models were used in inverse procedures, respectively. Twenty-four sites throughout the ventricles were paced and the sites of origins of ventricular activation were localized in the inverse procedure. The inverse solutions of localization of pacing sites using anisotropic or isotropic heart model were compared. The computer simulation results suggest that the cardiac anisotropy does not have significant influence on the localization of site of origin in the 3D ventricles during paced activation. Keywords—Heart model, anisotropy, inverse problem

Finite element simulation of the clinching process of steel sheets and study on influence of anisotropy on the mechanical behavior of joint
This article describes a numerical study on the TOX-clinching process of the steel sheets. In addition, the influence of plastic anisotropy of the material on joining parameters is analyzed by evolution of the joint parameters such as undercut and neck thickness and punch force-displacement curve. Finite element analysis with ABAQUS/CAE-Explicit program is used to simulate two dimensional and t...
متن کاملCoupled BE-FE Scheme for Three-Dimensional Dynamic Interaction of a Transversely Isotropic Half-Space with a Flexible Structure
The response of structures bonded to the surface of a transversely isotropic half-space (TIHS) under the effect of time-harmonic forces is investigated using a coupled FE-BE scheme. To achieve this end, a Finite Element program has been developed for frequency domain analysis of 3D structures, as the first step. The half-space underlying the structure is taken into consideration using a Boundar...
متن کاملEffect of Skull Inhomogeneities on Eeg Localization Accuracy
| The accuracy of the head model aaects on the solutions of the EEG inverse problems. If a simple three-sphere model and standard conductivity values for brain, skull and scalp regions are used, signifact errors may occur. One of the most sensitive head model parameters is the conductivity of the skull. A realistic three-dimensional nite-element model provides a method to study the eeect of inh...
متن کاملEllipsoidal head model for fetal magnetoencephalography: forward and inverse solutions.
Fetal magnetoencephalography (fMEG) is a non-invasive technique where measurements of the magnetic field outside the maternal abdomen are used to infer the source location and signals of the fetus' neural activity. There are a number of aspects related to fMEG modelling that must be addressed, such as the conductor volume, fetal position and orientation, gestation period, etc. We propose a solu...
متن کاملEffects of Erythropoietin on Electrocardiogram Changes in Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: an Experimental Study in Rats
The aim of this study was to define the electrocardiogram (ECG) changes following the moderate to severe CO intoxication in rats, and also evaluating the effect of erythropoietin (EPO) on observed cardiac disturbances. The growing literature on erythropoietin effect on cardiac ischemia led us to question its effect on cardiotoxicity due to the carbon monoxide poisoning. Wistar rats were exposed...
